Guys,

I would like to know if you are considering implementing the following features in a new release and what would its timeframe be:
- support linking of tasks into one mission. The import approach is not sufficient as you cannot easily build maintainable task libraries for complex applications.
- manually run a task. I read your answer to a previous posting but having this option available would allow faster debugging of steps. THe user will be responsible recreating the appropriate context for that step.
- allow TAB in the script editor
- Allow repositioning of tasks through drag and drop.
- Allow

Having the above features will help the tool usage within an enterprise. Otherwise the product is great.

Keep up the good work!

Hello,

thanks for your commendation. And also thanks for your suggestions about further releases.
We do not plan those features so far, but now we will check operability to consider each of those items.
The first one - linking tasks - effects to basic strucure concepts of JStudio SiteWalker, because SiteWalker is designed to operate with one project only.
Linking would assume to load & reload other files and tasks as specified. We will check, but this issue would be In some (very) complex projects JStudio SiteWalker is used, many test suites - structured by main process workflows - are called via
batch file and command line, so the test process is completely automated - also launching & executing different files. Maybe using batch files or Ant could be an
opportunity for you also.
Running Tasks step by step is already supported. How would it look like to enable task run manually? Please specify in more detail.
TAB and repositioning Tasks will be checked also and maybe could be candidates for the next release.

The next release 2.5.x will includes some bug fixes and small features. Curently it is planned to release it in the end of April/ in May.

Again, thank you for your suggestions. We try to do our best, but we kindly ask you to understand that we are not able to promise the issues for next releases
right now.

Enjoy working with JStudio SiteWalker.

One suggestion for new features we would appreciate: We created tasks that have more than 100 steps to build complex processes using task iteration. We really would appreciate a real inserting copied steps. Insert them to task adds them to the step list
And moving them pressing up/down buttons hundred times is not the optimal way. Apart from some missed small features: fantastic tool !

bye
