hi frank and community,

now and then i get the following error while executing a mission:

Quote:
Interner Fehler bei Referenz-Synchronisierung (340) : Element '1' des Steuerelementfelds existiert nicht
07.07.2006 15:14:23

It allways happens after all navigation steps of the affected task. It looks like internal VB errorcode when using an array of controls.

Saving the mission, closing down SiteWalker an reopening solves the problem for a while. I was not able to reproduce this behaviour predictable.

Best regards,
Michael.

Hello Michael,

thank you for your posting. Sorry for the late response - I was in hollydays for several weeks and only focus on customer project critical service requests.

We needed some time to reproduce this behaviour and we are sorry to confirm that this a bug. But the reason for this behaviour is unknown yet and can not be reproduced in reliable way yet.

It seems that the error occures when SiteWalker is running through all browser tabs to search for the HTML element represented by the current step. In default it always searches within active browser window at first. If the element can not be found, SiteWalker searches them all from the first one to the last. By doing this in some cases SiteWalker obviously find out that a browser windows has been changed or closed. We assume that running automated navigations which includes scripts closing a browser window and editing the project, especially when closing browser tabs manually can raise conflicts.

Are their any window.close statements in your tasks? If so, try to specify wait time on the steps following those statements to give extra time for internal script event handling.

We will watch this problem and keep focus on it.

Again, thanks for reporting this behaviour. We would be glad if would like to inform us, when getting new information on that.

Enjoy working with JStudio SiteWalker.

best regards,

Frank

Hi Frank,

I can reliably reproduce this problem.

It allways happens, if a pop-up window is opened (e. g. a list for selection) during navigation and the popup is closed by javascript.

Best regards
Michael

Hello Michael,

Thanks for this information. Maybe this might help to identify the reason for this problem, cause closing browser windows by script normally should work correctly - in the same way than closing them manually. So the behaviour can occure when closing but not each closing does raise this behaviour.
We are working on it.

Thanks again !

best regards,

Frank
